1978, The magical soul of Robin Williams is revealed to the world

He blew our minds and opened hearts when he hit the TV airwaves with Mork and Mindy.

This interview is recorded in July 1978 before the sitcom hit the airwaves.

Pam Dawber is adorable and such a good match for Robin’s high energy.  She seems to be very grounded, practical and traditional, so whenever Robin launched into the stratosphere, she could help pull him back down to earth.

During the 4 seasons that Mork and Mindy aired Robin went from having a relatively unobserved life to being one of the most recognizably loved, living people on the planet.

That experience came with some very big challenges.  Mork and Mindy, “The Unauthorized Version” retells the story quite well and gives people a chance to feel what it must have been like walk in his shoes.

Mork meets Robin Williams was one of Robin’s favorite episodes on Mork and Mindy because it was therapeutic for him to share what his life was like playing Mork from Robin’s point of view. (Season 3, Episode 14).

  • 11:55 Robin Williams finds out where Mork keeps his bees.  LOL!
  • 20:32 Mork tells Orson what he thinks of stardom.

There has never been and will never be anyone like Robin.  The best that we can do is to remember his sweet soul, keep that spirit in our heart and find our own way of making the universe a better place.
