Comic Relief #2 ~ Billy Crystal & Robin Williams

Below a snip from Comic Relief featuring Billy Crystal and Robin Williams portraying homeless people lamenting the loss of life’s luxuries. ….Have you ever see Robin play an air harmonica?  =)

A beautiful moment in media history happened when a powerful media company chose to do something unprecedented that was very heartfelt.  HBO used their media power to help the weakest people in our society, the homeless.  ~ They gave a social voice and helped vulnerable people regain some dignity and respect.  ~ Thank you!

With hearts full of love and many years of hard work, Whoopie Goldberg, Billy Crystal and Robin Williams hosted  many fundraising events for the homeless.  Much of what we are sharing with Comic Relief hasn’t been seen in 20 years and this is a great legacy to echo.

Comic Relief

Comic Relief #1 ~ George Carlin & Bob Zmuda

George Carlin was noted for his black comedy and his thoughts on politics, the English language, psychology, religion, and various taboo subjects. Carlin and his “Seven dirty words” comedy routine were central to the 1978 U.S. Supreme Court case  in which a decision affirmed the government’s power to regulate indecent material on the public airwaves.

Here is George talking about “stuff”  and it seemed fitting that Bob Zmuda would follow him and discuss Comic Relief.  And don’t believe ANYTHING Bob says, unless you want to have a good time.

Comic Relief

Comic Relief #1 ~ Howie Mandell

What a HOOT this guy is! “Howie” Mandel is well known as host of the NBC game show Deal or No Deal. He was also known for his role in St. Elsewhere. He was also the creator of the children’s cartoon Bobby’s World.  Mandel has mysophobia (an irrational fear of germs) to the point that he does not shake hands with anyone, including contestants on Deal or No Deal, unless he is wearing latex gloves.

“Howie” would probably enjoy this pic.  (This is what bacteria on our hands looks like when grown in a lab.)

Mandel’s signature stunt as a stand-up comedian (besides his Bobby alter-ego) was stretching a latex glove over his head and inflating it with his nostrils, filling it until it suddenly propelled itself off his head. He eventually gave up the routine under doctor’s orders after being diagnosed with a perforated sinus.  ….Poor Howie. =p

Comic Relief

Comic Relief #4 ~ Robin Williams

Robin’s performance in the 4th show of Comic Relief was powerful.  He alluded to the unconscionable greed of insurance companies.  It is for that very reason I almost died.   It hit my heart deeply and it is the reason this website exists!

The song at the end “Don’t Be a Greedy Bastard” is a catchy tune that plays in my head spontaneously since watching this.  Overall there were some really great performances and you could really feel the joy they had in producing the show.

Welcome to the Legacy of Love Robin Williams (LOL)

Sunday is when we will see little seeds of love sprouting in different areas of the United States….. MAYBE even the Phillipeans!  And WhatDreamsMayCome.org will report about it after the weekend.

The concept was created because I fervently want to see more people like Robin Williams in the world and I miss him dearly.

It is really a beautiful thing to take one of his brilliant quotes, put it in a colored plastic egg and place it in the hands of another person.  —- To see the spark when their eyes light up after receiving it, is truly precious.

We loved Robin’s films and improv comedy, but we truly loved him EVEN MORE because he was the brilliant star in our universe, a moral compass and a dreamer.  — He had no filter with the world, he AMPLIFIED what he felt and experienced.

He was a delicate flower in his soul and I often remain bewildered at how gracefully he handled so many millions of people loving him and being so accessible to connect with for 40 years.

Today is the first day of spring since Robin departed.  I felt that this would be a perfect day to begin CELEBRATING his life and to echo his gifts. 

Also Zelda’s tweet on August 12th, seemed like an irresistible invitation to do exactly what she hoped for.

Am I nervous starting something like this?  HELL YES!

But I am following my heart and don’t want any regrets for not following my PASSION.  I have been dealt an odd set of circumstances that is quite bewildering.  I am taking a situation that almost killed me and turning it into a GIFT for thousands.

I believe with all my heart that this is the beginning of something wonderful.  The little sparks I have already ignited warms my heart about what is POSSIBLE.

All of us wish for the world as Robin lived it and saw it, but few have the courage, strength and wit that struck you like a lightning bolt and then melted you with a hug  that was like the gentle touch of a butterfly.

(I was lucky to receive a hug from Robin.  I KNOW.  wow!)

Love comes in many forms ~ “Hope in Motion”

Christopher Reeve is a hero to the human race that offered so much love, hope and courage to the world. 

I am stunned by this incredible soul and wanted to honor Christopher Reeve as we celebrate Valentine’s Day and the LEGACY OF LOVE of Robin Williams.   

I went to a thrift store for looking films with Robin Williams in them and found  “Christopher Reeve – Hope in Motion.“

If you think life is hard, try living on a ventilator for 9 years and not being able to do ANYTHING but witness the world and communicate.

STOP READING and give it at least 10 seconds of thought on what you would do and what that would feel like.

Imagine it.  SERIOUSLY.

His film, Hope in Motion, offers a perspective of what is did with his life and is an awesome experience to witness his soul.

He testified to congress to try getting more support for stem cell research and also offered an official statement to the members of the United Nations:

Barbara Walters made a beautiful acknowledgement of their friendship after Robin passed.

I encourage you all to think about the reasons why you loved Robin and how YOU will fill the world with the love, laughter and color to honor the souls the filled your heart with love and joy.  BeRobin is a global movement of love and it begins with you.  None of us live forever, but our spirits DO!

Downs Syndrome girl sings her Valentine to YOU!

I got teary eyed watching this girl sing.  Very few people with Down Syndrome will EVER be able to sing.

This 12 year old girl is defying the odds against her.  She must use twice the standard vocal energy to produce sound to speak!

She works hard to strengthen her voice to do this.    She ALSO has a sinus infection TOO during this recording.

This singer shares that “I want to inspire.”  By defying the odds, she’s doing just that by singing John Legend’s “All of Me” for YOU!

This is her Valentine to the world.
