The people that support this event are known as “Wednesday’s Gift.” They share deep roots in history with similar efforts, such as Comic Relief in the 1980s with local legends like Robin Williams and people of more humble voices who ALL share a similar wish to help the most vulnerable when faced with a crisis.
In the spirit of legendary and lesser known souls who shared this common thread of history, this seemed like a great place to share George Carlin’s sketch about stuff from the first ever televised Comic Relief event:

ABOUT WEDNESDAY’S GIFT
Wednesday’s Gift is a volunteer based charity that helps Marin County residents by providing basic necessities of life to on a one-time basis, without delay.
In order to fulfill their mission, they rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses for support.
Here are some of the ways in which Wednesday’s Gift has made a difference in people’s lives:
- Paying utility bills
- Car Repairs
- Medical Equipment
- Securing bikes for homeless adults that needed transportation to work
- Securing volunteers to provide childcare, household repair, and home clean-outs
